Café on Queen – A Century of Connection
Nestled in the heart of Bowning, Café on Queen is more than just a coffee spot – it’s a piece of local history. The building, now a charming café, began life as a General Store in the early 1900’s and served the community until 1977. It later became a tearoom and today continues its legacy as a welcoming space for locals and visitors alike. Over the years, it has been a meeting place filled with stories, laughter, and connection.
‘Let’s Get Together’ – A Community Event for Wellbeing
The Bowning and Binalong communities have faced significant challenges in recent years, from the strain of green drought to uncertainty surrounding the proposed Bendenine Windfarm. These pressures have taken a toll on the community’s mental health and wellbeing, making connection more important than ever.
To support this, RAMHP hosted a ‘Let’s Get Together’ event at Café on Queen as part of the Halls with Heart project. The aim was simple: create an enjoyable, stress-free space where people can relax in the garden, share pizzas, listen to live local music, and reconnect. The event was a chance to take a break from the day to day and celebrate the strength of the community.
