The Nundle Memorial Hall has been the heart of the communities of Nundle, Hanging Rock and Bowling Alley Point since it was officially opened in 1892, hosting dinners, dances, weddings, funerals, and family reunions.
Today, it is synonymous with community events including the CWA Art Exhibition, Nundle Country Picnic, Heritage Week, Great Nundle Dog Race, Country Music Festivals and a Christmas Market.
As part of the Halls with Heart project, RAMHP helped coordinate a gathering to celebrate this special space for the local community.
Around 30 community members gathered for a screening of the ‘Just a Farmer’ film, along with special guest appearances from Sam Mackaway (Muster Dogs), Ian Worley, and Dr Cam Henderson, which added great value and local connection to the event.
The screening was very well received and sparked meaningful conversations among the crowd, particularly around shared experiences and mental health in rural communities. It was encouraging to see strong engagement, with many people spending time at the information table and taking resources to review at home.
The take-home meals provided by Joblink Plus were warmly appreciated by all.
RAMHP Coordinator, Kourtney said the event provided a valuable opportunity to bring the community together, reduce stigma and promote help-seeking.
