RAMHP was proud to attend the Tenterden Hall Centenary in September, as part of our Halls with Heart project. Built in 1925 by local farmer Herb Nielsen as a rifle club, the Hall has long served as a hub for connection, celebration, and community milestones. Once home to thriving tennis tournaments, the Hall remains strong thanks to dedicated locals.
Over the years, it has hosted school presentations, bush dances, and countless family events – including a memorable Christmas when lollies were dropped from a crop duster! Brett Nielsen, Herb’s great-great-nephew, shared:
My family has been directly involved for the last 100 years.
The centenary featured the unveiling of a Blue Tree, symbolising resilience and the importance of connection during tough times. RAMHP donated a sign encouraging mental health conversations and help-seeking. Committee member Kyle Martin noted:
It’s a great place for locals to reconnect, especially as life becomes busier and more disconnected.
RAMHP looks forward to continuing the partnership with the Tenterden Reserve Committee to promote mental wellbeing and future community events.
