RAMHP Coordinator, Kylie Jeffery was recently invited to present at the Bathurst Community Mental Health Drumming Flash Mob, held in October as part of Mental Health Month celebrations.
Led by Peer Worker Bryan Billington from the Bathurst Community Mental Health Team, the event is now in its 4th year. Due to Bryanβs enthusiasm and passion, the Drumming Flash Mob has grown in popularity, each year attracting more participants and onlookers, with a crowd of approximately 100 people showing their support this year. We were honoured to have some of our youngest supporters attend this year with children from the local pre-school attending to take part in the fun.
The aim of the event is to emphasise the importance of connection, looking out for each other and reaching out for help if needed.
Kylie spoke on the Mental Health Month theme ‘We all have a role to play’Β to encourage people to look out for each other, educating ourselves on signs to be aware of when someone may need support, referral pathways and self-care strategies to keep ourselves mentally well.
