Writing for wellbeing

Recently, our Far West NSW RAMHP Coordinator, Marie Kelly organised some Women’s Wellbeing Workshops in Menindee and Balranald in the state’s far west.

These recovery workshops were an opportunity for women to come together and use writing as a pathway to wellbeing, led by wellbeing-through-writing-practitioner, Stephanie Dale.

Stephanie founded The Write Road, a pioneering wellbeing initiative for people in rural and remote areas. She is currently undertaking her PhD research into the relationship between writing and wellbeing.

Marie said participants went on a supported journey of reflection and healing, recognising the impact Covid and flood has on wellbeing. They discovered a sense of clarity and purpose and left with a plan, a way forward and feeling re-energised.
