The Yanhiyanhirra (come to one’s assistance) artwork was commissioned by Grand Pacific Health for RAMHP and created by Wiradjuri woman and artist, Sonia Cox.
The intention was to create an artwork that reflected the breadth and impact of the program’s work across the state. Working closely with RAMHP’s Diversity and Inclusion Working Group, Sonia developed the story and created Yanhiyanhirra (come to one’s assistance). We are incredibly proud to showcase this stunning artwork and sincerely thank Sonia for her remarkable contribution.
Painted on paperbark, it is a pictorial representation of RAMHP. Designed in the shape of NSW, it uses topographical styling to create depth and portray the geographical terrain that RAMHP covers across the state. The subtle change in colour across the painting depicts the difference in climate and conditions of the state.
The painting is divided into nine health districts by travel lines denoting the extent of coverage by RAMHP and the extensive travel that RAMHP Coordinators do across regional, rural and remote areas.
