Supporting Macadamia Farmers

RAMHP Coordinators in the Northern NSW Local Health District, Sam Osborne and Steve Carrigg, have been supporting macadamia farmers, processors and other related workers in partnership with the Australian Macadamia Society. The macadamia industry has been doing it tough over recent times due to market price pressures and adverse weather events.

Sam and Steve delivered our very own RAMHP Support Skills training to two groups at the Local Land Services premises in Wollongbar to assist them in identifying, supporting and linking people who may be experiencing mental health problems due to current conditions in the industry.

The two days were very successful and some excellent feedback has already been received and we’re looking forward to strengthening our partnership with this industry in the future.
