It aint weak to speak

In May, RAMHP and the Lake Cathie Raiders Rugby League Football Club joined forces to hold a charity match to promote the importance of mental health.

Around 300 people attended the match, which was followed by an auction and raffle of the playing jerseys, the proceeds of which went to Self Seen, which plays an integral role in men’s mental health in the Hastings Valley area.

The overwhelming support from the local community and organisations made sure the event was a huge success and the Lake Cathie Raiders Rugby League Football Club even managed a hard-fought win (26-18) over the Beechwood Shamrocks!

“This is what rugby league and community is all about” said Mid North Coast RAMHP Coordinator, Orry Berry and from what we can see, winners really are grinners!

“The money raised will go to paying for a qualified counselor at Self Seen so we can get men the help they need much quicker than the system currently allows. This money is truly going to save lives and we don’t say that lightly. The success wasn’t just the money, it was the players and community members that approached us to mention what a great organisation Self Seen is and that they’re grateful they now have something to turn to if they ever needed it. This has and always will be the message Self Seen stands for. So again, thank you.”
